Moortown Fire 2

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Services appointed ITBC as part of a multi-disciplinary team for the refurbishment of Moortown Fire Station.

We produced full working drawings and an NBS specification for the tender package and provided contract administration services throughout the construction phase. ITBC chaired progress meetings, monitored works on site to review progress and quality of workmanship, dealt with enquires, carried out snagging and organised the handover of the works.

Project Description

The refurbishment works focused around creating individual dormitories and upgraded WC’s at first floor level and incorporating a gymnasium area into a previous appliance bay at ground floor.

Works included to renew the surfaces to the walls, floors and ceilings. The services (lighting, small power, fire alarm, security etc) were upgraded to suit the new layout. External cladding was also replaced and the building re-decorated to improve the appearance.

Benefits

We worked closely with the WYFRS estates team and the site personnel to ensure the continuity of the station was not compromised in any way. The works were organised into two separate phases and the design information was produced accordingly. The works were completed on time and within budget and the client expectations.
