ITBC provided a multi-discipline design service to produce full working drawings specifications and tender documentation for the washdown facility.

ITBC also co-ordinated with the design team members and liaised with the Severn Trent Water to gain consent for the water and drainage design proposals. Pre-tender estimates were also provided.

Project Description

The new vehicle wash facility comprised two vehicle wash lanes located on a concrete base with drainage falls incorporated, each lane has a steel gantry located on either side, armco barriers, flood lighting and new underground drainage silt traps and oil interceptors. An adjacent garage was refurbished to provide a storage for the vehicle wash complete with new roller shutter doors, new lighting, power outlets and water break tanks to feed the power washers.

Benefits

As a multi-disciplinary appointment ITBC provided a ‘one stop shop’ service to avoid multiple appointments and issues with design co-ordination.

3D images of the facility were produced at early design stage to convey the design intent with all stakeholders to avoid misunderstanding and abortive design work.

ITBC liaised with the end users of the facility to agree the type of vehicles which would be using the facility and the proposed number of vehicles per day to ensure the drainage and supplies to the facility had the capacity to cope with the demand.
