We provided multi-disciplinary design services to produce tender documentation (drawings, specifications, schedules etc.) to refurbish Accommodation Block 628.
Project Description
The works involve stripping the building back to the structure including all services and re-modelling the layout to maximise the number of rooms within the building. The exterior of the building was also upgraded by incorporating existing balcony areas into the rooms, introducing new cladding comprising mineral insulation and a silicone render and renewal of all external doors and windows. New low carbon technology was incorporated to provide heating and hot water with PV panels and air source heat pumps.
Benefits
ITBC held consultations with the client and building custodians to understand how the building is to function and to ensure their requirements were incorporated into the scheme. Design review meetings were also held regularly with all stakeholders to ensure full engagement.
