ITBC were appointed to provided multi-disciplinary design services (Arch, QS, Structural, M&E) to produce full working drawings and specifications for the internal and external refurbishment project. ITBC we also retained during the construction phase of the project to deal with any queries, monitor works on site for progress and quality of workmanship and provided snagging inspections at handover.
Project Description
The building was comprehensively refurbished as it was not fit for purpose both internally and externally. Internal walls were removed and replaced and the WC’s were removed and extended to provide adequate facilities. All finishes in the building were renewed including wall, floor and ceilings. In addition, all the services were stripped out and also renewed with new modern highly efficient replacements.

With ITBC extensive experience of working in the defence sector we were able to ensure that the new facility complied with all the MOD standards and was returned back as a ‘fit for purpose’ facility.
The multi-disciplinary design services provided Amey with a ‘one stop shop’ service avoiding multiple appointments and issues with design co-ordination.
ITBC liaised with all stakeholders, gained statutory approvals (planning and building regulations), co-ordinated the design team members and liaised with the Crown Fire Officer to ensure the project ran smoothly.
